POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Executive Director for the New Mexico Partnership for Community Action (NMPCA) directs the Mission of the NMPCA to improve and grow the strategic and fiscal capacity of member agencies to fully engage and fulfill their mission and community objectives. The Executive Director ensures the NMPCA goals, objectives and directives are met.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

·         The Executive Director will be required to assist NMPCA to work together to further the goals and objectives of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Act and its amendments;

·         Bring about more effective cooperation between NMPCA, Commission or Departments of State, Federal, Regional Offices and other public/ private organizations pledged to the alleviation of poverty;

·         Provide a forum and recommend solutions to mutual concerns, issues, problems and needs of NMPCA entities and their professional service relationships.

·         Write proposals and develop resource opportunities

·         Manage the business affairs of NMPCA

·         Engage NMPCA members in a strategic process

·         Maintain sound fiscal and administrative management policies and procedures

·         Develop resource opportunities for member agencies

 

OTHER DUTIES 

 

·         Employ and supervise staff of NMPCA

·         Promote the purposes and objectives of NMPCA

·         Develop plans and implement programs to further the professional skill through continuing education activities, conferences and workshops;

·         Disseminate information relevant to member organizations, including funding opportunities, and legislative alerts

·         Maintain local, state and federal support for the objectives of NMPCA

·         Provide support to NMPCA and its Committees in carrying out their responsibilities by providing staff work and studies on key issues facing NMPCA

·         Utilize effectively and efficiently NMPCA staff and resources in carrying out the objectives

·         Respond to questions and assistance from NMPCA stakeholders in a timely  manner

·         Provide services specified in NMPCA contracts and maintain documentation of the services provided

·         Coordinate arrangements for all meetings and conferences of NMPCA

·         Represent NMPCA in public speaking engagements, meetings and other forums

·         Secure and assist consultants as directed by NMPCA

·         Under the direction of NMPCA, work toward permanent and constructive changes in state and federal policies affecting CAAs in their operations

·         Organize the capacity building skill sets of its member agencies

·         Other duties as deemed necessary and/or assigned by the Board Chair

  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

 

Master’s degree preferred or a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social science or similar field.  Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in administrative supervisory position requiring responsibility for program planning, budget development, monitoring and evaluation.   Successful experience responding to RFP’s and grants writing.

HELP-New Mexico, Inc. seeks a highly motivated individual with leadership, energy and vision for the position of Regional Manager in the NE region based in Las Vegas. 

Duties: Management and implementation of regional programs, ensuring compliance with grants and contracts, strategic initiatives, and supervise personnel. Secure additional funds within 12 months of employment.  Serve as an agency representative in San Miguel, Mora, Colfax and Guadalupe counties; be a team leader in seeking resources, developing action plans, and writing proposals.  Manage regional budgets.  Develop and maintain operating procedures and other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a Master’s Degree in business management or a related field and 5+ years work experience in the development and management of community and/or workforce initiatives; minimum 3+ years supervisory experience. Successful experience responding to RFP’s - grant writing is required.  Excellent communication skills including public speaking.  Analytical & computer skills required. Strong organizational and administrative skills, ability to function effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.  Must possess problem solving skills.  Exempt position, excellent benefits.
